Nematopagurus indicus Alcock, 1905は、アラビア海、ニコバル諸島、インドネシア、ニューカレドニアの水深210-550mから報告があり、国内からの報告はまだありませんが、最近まで当図鑑でシンヨウイトヒキヤドカリとして掲載していた個体が本種に似ていることが解ったので、あくまで写真判定ですが本種として掲載しておきます。

以下、McLaughlin(2004)の説明から左鉗脚の部分を引用。
Left cheliped with spare tufts of long setae on all surfaces, marginal setae usually denser; palm (Fig. 16c) triangular in cross-section; elongate dactyl and fixed finger slightly curved ventrally. Dactyl unarmed, but like right, with short setal ridges and moderate to long setae. Palm usually with prominent spine at dorsolateral proximal angle and row of small spines on dorsolateral margin, not extending to tip of fixed finger; elevated dorsal midline with row of small spines, not extending onto fixed finger; dorsomesial margin weakly defined, with 1 prominent proximal spine and row of few to several spines, decreasing in size distally, dorsal surface with scattered low ridges accompanied by moderate to long setae. Carpus with dorsomesial and dorsolateral row of spines; 1 spine at dorsodistal margin. 意訳↓
左鉗脚には表面全体に長い毛束の予備の房があり、周辺部の毛束は通常より密である。掌部(図16c)の断面は三角形で、指節と固定指は長く伸びて腹側にわずかに湾曲する。指節は非武装だが、右と同様に短い隆起線と中央あたりから長い毛束をもつ。掌部は通常、背側近位に顕著な棘があり、背縁には小さな刺が列をなしているが、固定指の先端までは伸びず、背面の縁は弱く、近位に1本の顕著な棘があり、数本の棘が並び、遠位ではその大きさは小さくなる。腕節には背内側と背外側に1列の棘があり、背遠位にも1本の刺がある。

いくつかの棘の先端と体節の接合部にわずかに赤みが残っているだけである。遠位ではその大きさは小さくなる。腕節には背内側と背外側に1列の棘があり、背遠位にも1本の刺がある。

All of the specimens now examined agree better with Balss' specimen than with Alcock's (1905b) description; however, the spination on the chelae and carpi are, in the females even weaker. 意訳↓
現在調べている標本はすべてAlcock(1905b)の記述よりもBalssの標本とよく一致しているが、雌では鉗脚と掌部の棘がさらに弱いことがわかる。
